![]() We are all very excited to give you all an update on our collective and our new members. The founding four members have had a reshuffle and we welcome Siobhan and Vicky to the team, who will be introducing themselves in upcoming blog posts. We are looking forward to the next six months and taking forwards the learnings from our trial six months as a collective. Working collectively gives us all a supporting team who looks out for us as well as people to share ideas with and ask for opinions. It removes the isolation of being a lone therapist, without any of us losing any of our own identity, and still being able to practice in a way that is authentically our own. Because we feel strong and supported, we are in a great position to be able to hold space and time for our clients to achieve the best outcomes from their time with us. We can offer coaching, counselling, reflexology and hypnotherapy for a range of issues to bring about positive change in people's lives. We can help you through transitions and through difficult times. If you think that one of the team could be the therapist, coach or counsellor that you have been looking for, get in touch for a free initial chat to find out how we can help you. Our range of services is expanding so watch this space for more updates and to see how we can help even more people reach the therapist who is right for them. A new page might be just what you need. How can we help you to make the fresh start that you need?

![]() Victoria Sparkes is our Counsellor and appointments are currently available with her here on Wednesdays from 1 until 7 pm. Victoria has over ten years experience and a vast array of therapeutic qualifications including; hypnotherapy, reflexology and massage. She is motivated by her fascination about people, how and why we behave the way we do and this perpetuates her continual desire to learn more. Everything she has learned to date about herself, people and psychology informs her counselling practice and she believes can only help her become a better therapist and empathise more effectively with her clients and where they are at. Counselling, Victoria believes, is often one of the most misunderstood therapies. There seems to be a misconception that people need to be in severe psychological distress, or have a specific problem, which as we know isn't always the case, sometimes we can all feel just a little bit lost in our own lives. Victoria believes there isn't a person alive that couldn't do with a (therapeutic) hour a week to offload about what is going on for them, to a neutral, experienced, confidential professional. To qualify as a Counsellor there is not only rigorous training, but also a necessity to have a vast amount of personal counselling (on most courses this is at least 40 or 50 hours). This is counselling about yourself, your life, your issues, it is not a learning exercise. This means your counsellor is not some perfect being that has all the answers and training and is there to judge you. They are a very real human being who has had (and likely continues to have) real life issues and has been forced to confront them in a very similar way to that which you are faced with. They understand what it feels like to be in that client chair, and their work is informed by education and personal experience that enables them to empathise with you and where you are at. If you are not sure about counselling, what it's all about and whether it's for you, please do feel free to book a free initial consultation with Victoria, that's exactly what she offers them for. |
